HistoGeneX has more than 250 validated immunohistochemical staining assays based on monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies against human, mice, rabbit and pig epitopes
New antibodies are continuously under investigation to detect new molecular targets on tissue sections

DETECTION OF APOPTOSIS
_________________________________
Prorammed cell death plays an important role in controlling cell number during development and throughout an organism's life by removal of cells at the appropriate time. However, programmed cell death is not confined to apoptosis only since other programmed cell death types are involved in the cell homeostasis. Therefore, detection of apoptosis by the TUNEL technique should always be combined with additional techniques (activated caspase-3, morphological criteria)

DETECTION OF
APOPTOSIS BY
THE TUNEL TECHNIQUE IS COMBINED WITH ADDITIONAL ASSAYS

Detection of TUNEL labeling in cell culture
Detection of cleaved Caspase-3 in cell culture
Detection of cleaved PARP in cell culture
CYTOLOGY _________________________________

FLUORESCENCE MICROSCOPY _________________________________

A powerful technique for localizing multiple organelles and epitopes in cells and tissues is fluorescent microscopy

HistoGeneX has expertise in stainings with multiple fluorescent labels which are detected by Axioplan 2 and Olympus fluorescence microscopes

PLASTIC EMBEDDING _________________________________

HistoGeneX has considerable experience with plastic embeddings

Plastic embedding is used for tissues, like stented arteries or bone, that are difficult to process by conventional paraffin embedding

HistogeneX provides immunohistochemistry of nuclear epitopes on plastic embedded material

LASER CAPTURE MICRODISSECTION _________________________________

Laser Capture Microdissection is an exciting tool for collecting target cells from tissue sections overcoming the heterogeneity of tissues

At HistogeneX Laser Capture Microdissection is used in combination with RNA, DNA or proteins analysis

Focal areas with a diameter of 5 µm can be captured from tissue sections by laser Capture Microdissection. The captured cells are further processed for RNA, DNA or protein analysis
At HistoGeneX LCM can be performed on frozen as well as on paraffin embedded tissue without loosing molecular information

CO-LOCALIZATION _________________________________

Co-localization of both cytoplasmic and nuclear epitopes can be done by a stain and washout technique developed at HistoGeneX
